The Monte Vista Historic District holds some of San Antonio's finest early-1900s homes — Victorians, Craftsman bungalows and Prairie-style houses between San Antonio College and Trinity University. Nearly all were built on pier-and-beam foundations, and a century of clay movement shows up as sloping floors and sticking pocket doors.
